Cydia Substrate Updated to Version 0.9.6200 with Fixes for iOS 9.3 Jailbreak

Saurik has just released the Cydia Substrate 0.9.6200 for iOS 9.2+ and it is now available for download. The release according to the change log ‘mitigates’ a storage issue on the root filesystem that was caused on the PanGu jailbreak. The new version of Cydia Substrate does this by stashing the installation target of extension.

This would come as a relief to many users as the issue was preventing them from installing tweaks on their devices. Previously the tweaks were being installed in the system partition, which already has limited storage available. Now after this release the tweaks will be installed in data partition of iOS device.

Therefore, it is important to stash tweaks and packages over to the data partition, which has far more space, allowing more tweaks to be installed. Well-known developer Coolstar released a package recently called “Stashing for iOS 9.2 – 9.3.3” to address this issue by stashing your tweaks so they get installed to the data, rather than system partition.

Saurik’s latest update to Cydia Substrate brings a similar fix by stashing the “installation target of extensions”. In addition to other fixes, the “volume up to disable” feature has also been modified to work correctly on devices running iOS 9.2 and above. After the device boots up, you can hold down the volume up button while using the Pangu jailbreak app to disable Substrate.
If you have already jailbroken your device, it’s important to update Cydia Substrate right now to prevent package installation issues. You can perform the update by going to Cydia, open the Changes tab and tap on Refresh button in top right corner. Once the sources have been refreshed, you should see Cydia Substrate under ‘Available Upgrades’. Open the package and update it.
