ClassicFolders : Bring Back The iOS 6 Style Folders To iOS 7 & 8 – Back To Old iPhone
If you miss the look of iOS 6, you’ll be glad to find out about a new jailbreak tweak known as ClassicFolders by iOS developers CoolStar and Jeremy Goulet. CoolStar is best known for his popular SemiRestore tool and his “Classic” tweaks which aim to bring the old iOS 6 look to newer version of iOS.
ClassicFolders as its name suggests brings the classic look of folders to iOS 8 as well as iOS 7. Users can choose from a variety of different styles that have been inspired from OS X Mavericks, modern blur look of iOS, folders of iOS 4.0 beta 1 etc. There are different appearance related settings that you can configure to get the perfect look such as you can enable or disable dark tint, icon outline as well as have classic icon shape.
Once you install ClassicFolders, venture into the tweak’s preferences pane in Settings to configure it. From there, you can enable or disable it whenever you want as well choose a folder style from one of the four modes that the tweak provides. The Modern mode keeps the default iOS 8 folder style while the Classic mode changes the folder style to that of iOS 6.
When you enable Modern mode, you can also toggle on/off ‘Icon Outline’ and Dark Tint which darkens the folder background. On the other hand, if you choose Classic mode, you can enable ‘Classic Icon Shape’ which adds a thick border to the folder icon just like iOS 6. Every time you make changes, you are required to respring your device to notice the new effect.
ClassicFolders is quite an interesting tweak that revives the old memories of iOS 6. The best advantage is that you’ll also get additional folder styles along with the classic iOS 6 style.
