As we eagerly wait for iOS 11.1.2 jailbreak, here’s another hint that the release is imminent. Jay Freeman, aka Saurik, founder of Cydia, has just revealed that he is working on updating Cydia for iOS 11. Saurik has also mentioned that despite people believing he has made millions from his Cydia project, he has to pay for Cydia to run out of his own pocket.
He revealed this while responding to a post on reddit, which was created in response to a post attacking him:
Saurik has been one of the main pillars of the jailbreak community, so it is disappointing to see people attacking him. It is amazing that he continues to maintain Cydia even though he is losing “thousands of dollars” every month.
We are fast approaching the 10th anniversary of Cydia, which has been installed on more than 30 million jailbroken iOS devices. So if you would like to support him, you can make a donation by visiting his website.
A jailbreak for iOS 11.1.2 is on the cards as Google Project Zero has publicized an exploit that can be instrumental in making a jailbreak. And when an iOS 11 jailbreak is released, we can now count on Saurik to update Cydia for it. (Top image credit: @CheeseCakeUfo)
