Unc0ver 3.0 Jailbreak for iOS 11 – iOS 11.4.1 Released

Hot on the heels of the release of Electra 1.2.0 jailbreak tool for iOS 11 – iOS 11.4.1, Unc0ver 3.0 has also been released by the Pwn20wnd team. Unc0ver 3.0 can be used to jailbreak iPhone 6s or higher running iOS 11 – iOS 11.4.1.

Like the latest Electra release, the new release of Unc0ver makes use of new exploits that makes it a lot more stable than the outgoing version. This is still a pre-release build which means it will have some bugs but the overall jailbreaking experience should still be much better than the previous version. The chances of a successful jailbreak using Unc0ver 3.0 is notably higher than the older version.

Unc0ver 3.0 does lack support for A7 and A8X devices but the Pwn20wnd team is working on adding support for it ASAP.

Even if you are already running an older version of unc0ver on your iPhone or iPad, it is still recommended that you update to unc0ver 3.0 for the stability improvements that it brings to the table.

A possible iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 jailbreak is also on the horizon after security researcher Azad from Google’s Project Zero revealed it in a detailed write-up. However, you should not upgrade to iOS 12 due to the exploit. If you are still running iOS 11 and value a jailbroken device, stick to the existing jailbreak tools that are available. Upgrade to iOS 12 only after a working jailbreak tool is released for the OS.
