Sileo for iOS 12 Released for Non-Jailbroken Devices

In a move that’s bound to surprise many, the Sileo team has released an IPA of the app for non-jailbroken devices. Sileo initially started as a third-party package manager meant to act as a Cydia replacement but with this move, the Sileo team is looking to expand further.

Sileo for non-jailbroken devices is compatible with iOS 11 – iOS 12.2 beta 3. While only jailbroken users can use Sileo to install packages, non-jailbroken users have access to all other features.

You can use Sileo as a repo browser and receive notifications for package updates on a non-jailbroken iPhone. However, to use it as a repo browser, you will have to save a list of the repo URLs in the Notes app and then use the batch-add feature to add them every time you open Sileo.

Alternatively, you can simply keep Sileo running in the background so that you won’t have to re-add sources every time you relaunch the app.

Sileo is obviously not going to be as powerful on a non-jailbroken device as it is on a jailbroken one. Nonetheless, it can always be used as a repo browser something which many users might be interested in.
