The Final iOS 8.2/8.3/8.4 Jailbreak Untethered ! UPDATES & Jailbreak iOS 9 “Rootless”

Apple users are waiting for an updated untethered jailbreak . They won’t have to wait long, with a release date expected in July. However, with an iOS 8.4 update coming soon, Team K33N, TaiG, and possibly Pangu may focus on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 9 – and to release it the same time Apple rolls out iOS 9.

The much-awaited untethered iOS 8.3 jailbreak, according to our previous report, has been recently previewed by Pangu, with the demo generating lots of excitement on Weibo and across the jailbreak community.

Pangu might be strategically holding the release of its iOS 8.3 jailbreak, so Apple won’t be able to patch it in the fresh release of iOS 8.4, instead having to wait until it releases iOS 9.

iOS jailbreaks are very popular, as it allows owners of Apple devices to install unofficial apps and other add-ons, thus doing away with the need to access App Store and paying a fee for the apps. Having a device running on iOS jailbreak also frees the owner from hardware restrictions to run a certain theme or extension, thus allowing users to build a more customized device. iOS jailbreak are carried out by accessing the “root” or the “special user” of the device.

However, it might be an advantage to wait until iOS 8.4 is released and encourage iOS jailbreakers not to update to iOS 8.4. If the iOS 8.3 jailbreak is released after iOS 8.4 comes out, Apple will not be able to release a security patch until iOS 9 is released.

Since Apple is expected to release the iOS 8.4 late June,  a July jailbreak release by hackers makes better sense. What’s more, the group will also be working on an iOS 8.4 jailbreak.

Meanwhile,Chinese hacking group K33n Team have confirmed that it wished to put to work on iOS jailbreak 9, K33nTeamJBiOS9-679x382

assisted by the gang of Pangu, who has already presented the jailbreak for iOS 8.3 on the sidelines of MOSEC. The latter team said they want to release after the release of iOS 8.4, which we know will take place on June 30. This means that jailbreak iOS 8.3 and 8.4 hit your devices in July (things continue to travel on this track, do not worry).

“We want to release it just after iOS 9, that’s our plan,” said one of the group’s researchers, Liang Chen, to Forbes. “It depends how lucky we are.”

While such an ambitious plan could be seen as all-talk from the newest

(yet unproven) group in the iOS jailbreak community, K33N may reach out to collaborate with Pangu — arguably the most popular iPhone-cracking group.

Team K33N may be new to creating untethered jailbreaks for iOS, but it has a recent and respected history of cracking several other aspects of Apple mobile, including breaking Safari and winning Mobile Pwn2Own competitions for finding exploits in iPhones in 2013 and 2014.

Stay tuned for further updates .
