Apple releases iOS 9.1 includes new features, improvements and bug fixes
Apple has just released iOS 9.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This is the first major update since iOS 9 was released in September. Apple had released five beta versions of iOS 9.1 to developers and public beta testers before releasing it today.
The software includes new emoji characters, Live Photos improvements, and the usual round of bug fixes. iOS 9.1 offers new features and compatibility for upcoming products such as new fourth generation Apple TV and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. It should also add support for Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard, the two new accessories for iPad Pro. iOS 9.1 also includes improvements to Live Photos for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, a slot of new emojis like the taco, burrito, cheese wedge, middle finger, unicorn head, and more as per the latest Unicode specification. It also includes a new option in Settings for the Messages app, which allows users to disable photos for their contacts. iOS 9.1 also includes updates to the Live Wallpapers.
The full change log is as follow :

Jailbreakers should avoid upgrading to iOS 9.1 as they will lose the jailbreak. We also don’t know if the Pangu jailbreak tool, which was released to jailbreak iOS 9 – iOS 9.0.2 will work with iOS 9.1. We won’t be surprised if Apple has patched the exploits used in Pangu iOS 9 jailbreak to stay ahead of the cat and mouse game between them and the jailbreak community.
If you don’t care about jailbreaking, then you can install iOS 9.1 via OTA update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
If you’re not getting the update via OTA update then you can download the appropriate iOS 9.1 IPSW file for your device from the links provided below. You can check your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch’s back cover for the model number to download the appropriate download link.
