Apple’s iPad Air 3 To Feature Four Speakers and and LED Flash

According to leaked design drawings shared by the French website, Nowherelese.fr, Apple’s next-generation iPad Air 3 could adopt the iPad Pro’s four-speaker design and gain an LED flash next to the rear-facing camera. The website cannot fully guarantee the veracity of the sketches, but the report does mention its source has been reliable on two out of three occasions in the past.

Here’s what it looks like:

If the design in the drawings turns out to be true, the iPad Air 3 could possibly have two speakers on both the top and bottom of the tablet, similar to the four-speaker design found in Apple’s latest iPad Pro. When it comes to the rear-facing LED flash, the feature is one that was a bit unexpected considering the iPad is a not a device that people tend to use for its camera functionality very often. That being said, the move could possibly make sense as Apple looks for ways to combat declining iPad sales by giving the option for iPad owners to use the tablet to take better photos.

Apple is rumored to announce the iPad Air 3 at an upcoming media event in March. The next-gen iPad is said to come alongside a new 4-inch iPhone “iPhone 5se” and possible Apple Watch updates. We don’t know too much about the iPad Air 3 just yet aside from the fact that it may lack Apple’s 3D touch feature. It is expected to have the usual round of hardware upgrades as any new product launch has had in the past. Ultimately we’ll have to wait and see.
