Apple has just provided developers with the fourth beta of 9.2.1 to tvOS, the operating system designed for the fourth-generation Apple TV. Today’s beta comes one week after the third beta of tvOS 9.2.1 and more than a month after the release of tvOS 9.2. tvOS 9.2.1 has been in testing since April 6.
As a minor 9.x.x update, tvOS 9.2.1 focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements that are not readily apparent to Apple TV users. There have been no outward-facing changes in the first three tvOS 9.2.1 betas, but any new features discovered in the fourth beta will be listed below.
To install the new beta on the fourth-gen Apple TV, you’ll need to connect the set-top box to a computer via a USB-C to USB-A cable. Once that is done, download the beta software and install it on the Apple TV through iTunes or Apple Configurator.
