Apple has just seeded the second beta of iOS 10.2 to developers, one week after seeding the first beta of iOS 10.2 and two weeks after releasing iOS 10.1, the first major update to iOS 10.
Along with new emoji, iOS 10.2 includes new wallpaper, new Music sorting options, a new “Celebrate” Screen Effect,” an option for preserving camera settings, a Videos widget, Single-Sign On support for watching live TV via apps, and more.
What’s New (so far) in Beta 2:
- SOS: There’s a new SOS feature that is activated when the Power button on the iPhone is pressed quickly five times. According to Apple, the system works in the United States, the United Kingdom, India, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, India, Belgium, Australia, Brazil, France, Canada, China, Russia, and Spain.
- TV app: The new TV app, for the single universal TV guide, is now available in iOS 10.2.
- Apple Music: While listening to music, the Shuffle and Repeat buttons are a bit bigger, making it easier to see and activate.
Folks enrolled in Apple’s developer program can install the update via the over-the-air mechanism in the Settings app, or from the dev center.
