Installer 5 Cydia Alternative to Be Released Tomorrow

Installer 5, The alternative App Store for jailbreak apps and tweaks for iOS 10 and iOS 11 has been long under development. Today, the AppTapp team has announced that they will be releasing the first developer beta of Installer 5 tomorrow (i.e. May 22).

Along with the release of the first developer beta, the team will also be revealing the first look of Installer 5. It also says that since Installer 5 is a “self contained project,” it can be easily updated to work on new iOS versions in just a few minutes.

If AppTapp ends up releasing the first beta of Installer 5, it would come after months of delays. There’s a lot of hype surrounding the project in the jailbreak community so it remains to be seen if the final product lives up to the hype or not.

Below is a quick 8-second teaser shared by the AppTeam back in December last year.

Installer was the first App Store for jailbreak apps and tweaks before it was surpassed by Cydia in terms of popularity. With Installer 5, the team is hoping to win back Cydia users with a completely redesigned interface and other features.

With Cydia, the problem is that it requires being updated by saurik everytime a new jailbreak is released. Sometimes, that can take its fair share of time thereby frustrating users. Installer 5 aims to fix that problem for good as it does rely on any dependencies which means it can be easily and quickly updated to support any new jailbreak.

Are you looking forward to the release of the Installer 5?
