Hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd has released a new beta of unc0ver 3.0 jailbreak which brings about some major stability improvements for iOS 11 – iOS 12.1.2. Most people who have jailbroken their iPhone or iPad using unc0ver have complained about stability issues, with their device randomly rebooting or apps crashing.
Pwn20wnd announced the updated version of the jailbreak tool, dubbed unc0ver v3.0.0 beta 49, via Twitter earlier in the day:

The latest beta aims to fix all such stability issues as it comes with a plethora of underlying fixes. Below is the full change-log of the update:
- Fix overnight reboots or system memory resets triggered by mmaintenanced
- Fix freezing under low-memory conditions on iOS 12
- Fix freezing when loading tweaks or when securityd is being restarted on iOS 12
- Fix a kernel memory leak
- Fix a faulty sandbox patch
- Store offsets in the live kernel memory
- Optimize the code
- Improve the success rate of machswap and machswap2
- Don’t reboot after extracting bootstrap
- Fix a bug in logging
- Improve performance
- Improve assertion
- Update the APT lists cache file for repositories
As of now, Unc0ver still does not have support for A12 – A12X Bionic devices like the iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and the 2018 iPad Pro lineup. However, the team is almost done on adding support for the devices and is now only waiting for Substrate to gain support for arm64e devices.
If you’re already jailbroken on iOS 12 with the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release, then you’re advised to download and run this update as soon as possible to take full advantage of the new features and improvements.
On the other hand, the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is still in beta, and while it might be tempting to hop onboard right now, we’d strongly advise that novice jailbreakers wait for the official public release. This beta is mostly intended for developers and jailbreak power-users.
The latest public release of the unc0ver jailbreak tool is v2.2.6 with support for iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 4 – the unc0ver v3.0.0 pre-release is the only iteration that supports iOS 11.4-11.4.1. Both versions of the unc0ver jailbreak tool can be had from Pwn20wnd’s official GitHub repository.
